Donica Grimes

At a very young age, I learned that I had a passion for helping people, so I decided to assist juveniles who were impressionable. These persons constantly made the wrong decisions in life, and just needed a little guidance from someone who genuinely cared. This is what ushered me into going to school for Criminal Justice. After receiving my Associates in Applied Science, a Bachelor in Arts and a Masters in Science, I decided to start a reentry program for ex-offenders to reduce recidivism. “My personal goal is to enhance, empower, and encourage everyone.” It has not been an easy road, but I know that my faith & trust in God will see me through. Thank you so much for this opportunity.

Rachel Boyd

I have worked in the non-profit industry for over 12 years as a special event manager and have found my career most rewarding when I am able to give back to the community in a greater way of volunteerism. I have volunteered for several organizations (Jaycees, Junior League and Icing Smiles) over the years and having the opportunity to work with Icing Smiles for almost two years was the best experience for me. I was given the opportunity as the Virginia State Representative and was the liason between families and bakers. I also am a current board member for Bethanie Evangelical Missions for Haiti and

have traveled to Haiti to serve the last two summers. I recently accepted a position as Community Director for the March of Dimes and feel this position will allow me to serve the public in a great capacity. I feel most at home out in the field talking to people and building lifetime relationships. Non-profit work is most like voluteering, as I am able to give back in more ways than one!
